Liberated Learning Partners in Asia:
Beijing Union University, China
The Special Education College of Beijing Union University (SECBUU) represents the Liberated Learning consortium as a hub site in the People’s Republic of China. SECBUU has created a Chinese Collaborative Team committed to testing and researching the Liberated Learning concept under the auspices and leadership of the Liberated Learning Consortium. This team is initially comprised of three educational institutions:
- 重庆师范大学特殊教育学院（Special Education College of ChongQing Normal University）
- 北京市第四聋人学校（Beijing No.4 school for the Deaf）
- 北京市第三聋人学校（Beijing No.3 School for the Deaf）
SECBUU is testing the Liberated Learning concept in
various Computer Science courses including: Computing Method, Circuitry, Object Oriented Programming Network Application Technology, Computer System Principle, Network Management and Maintenance, Assembly Language, Computer Graphic Design. SECBUU also works closely with IBM's China Human Ability and Accessibility Center and IBM China Software Development Laboratory to develop captioning and transcription systems for usage in China
